Sparrow Nestlings
This spring, if you find a baby sparrow on the ground and can't return it to its nest, keep it warm and dry and feed it canned moist dog food with a high protein content. Sparrow chicks are fed insects (high protein) up until they are almost adults when they switch to plant seeds. Feeding nestlings bread crumbs or seeds just hastens their deaths.
