Unfortunately politicians in my country (Australia) are being enticed by campaign funding from medical insurance companies. We're copying the US system.
Result Australia is gradually moving from an effective public health system to a dysfunctional private insurance system.
Where Health money went exclusively to health care its now also going to insurance executives and lawyers.

Perhaps Sicko when viewed in Australia will wake up the populace to counter the special interests. Likely, you will likely see your public health system degrade. You also have the AirAmbulance Service for the Outback to contend with. People rely on that governemnt service for their lives.
