Beautiful Fall Days

This week is so nice! The sky is brilliant blue. The sunshine is extraordinary. I've been happy. The cats have been happy. I've spent way too much on gift certificates to pure strangers and on books to read for myself, but oddly enough, it makes me more happy. I gave Terry Pratchett's latest book, Thud!, to Brian to read. I have Neil Armstrong's biography to ponder. My 44th birthday comes up Sunday. Unfortunately, I'll likely be sleeping through most of it. Well, that's half true. From midnight to 7:00 AM, I'll be finishing up my shift at work, then come home and sleep, then over to Brian and Jade's for dinner and most likely a chocolate birthday cake. For now though, need to pay bills, get cleaned up, do laundry and clean the apartment a bit. It's good to be alive. Wish I had someone to share it with, but the furry children will have to do. I think everything will be alright. I read Eckhart Tolle's latest book and passed out several copies to friends. He doesn't seemed concerned that humanity will wipe itself out, so hopefully he knows the outcome. But he also knows the ultimate truth, that nothing out here matters all that much. That this world is a temporary manifestation of the Source of all things and Life itself, what most religions call "God". What a misused word. It points to something so great and loving and like most things the word becomes corrupted over time by men and their petty plans. Perhaps, we will finally understand the reality to which the word God points within my lifetime. I suppose that even more suffering is in store for humanity and that it is required to awaken enough of us to "God". I hope we choose to embrace the Light and not the Darkness. What a beautiful day! I am blessed! Whoever reads this, may you be blessed too!
